About us

Thanks for stopping by. The Coyote Amateur Radio Club welcomes you to the exciting world of amateur radio. It was founded in early 2008, sponsored by the Uvalde Memorial Hospital. The club has members who are interested in Amateur Radio and the many activities associated with it. We are an ARRL Affiliated Club.

Currently, the club enjoys competing in the annual ARRL Field Day, the Texas QSO Party and several other contests, participating in public service events, and educating the public about Amateur Radio. Our goal is not to be just “fair weather operators”, but to be beneficial to the community.

Come join the fun! Annual membership is $12, and $6 for family members. Click here to download a membership application.

During an Emergency Incident, Amateur Radio operators help by providing communication when all other types of communication are down, including land telephones, cell phones, and the internet.

Need some additional help in getting ready for an emergency situation? Go to Ready.gov , where you’ll find dozens of videos on just about every emergency and how to prepare for it.

You can also get a list for a Basic Emergency Supply Kit and a Family Emergency Plan that you can fill out and give to your family members. If you need to get a food supply ready, try Mountain House. MRE’s are good too! 😉
