Not “4 more years”…

… but 4 more states!

Some time ago I signed up the CARC to the Logbook of The World. It’s essentially a repository of QSOs between thousands of amateur radio operators around the world; and is particularly convenient to apply for some of the awards the ARRL issues. No need to exchange paper QSL cards anymore: it’s all done electronically!

I was looking at what we’ve accomplished so far regarding one of their most popular awards, the Worked All States award. It turns out that we already have 46 states confirmed!

CARC 46 states already!

Copyright ARRL.

The states we’re missing right now are Maine, Maryland, Nebraska and South Dakota.

So… get started, people; so we can get that shiny award for the club shack. Before the end of the year – it can be done! 🙂

I told you so :-)

The CARC website is back up – and is not going anywhere for the next 3 years, thanks to that very generous donor of ours!

The latest backup was imported succesfully tonight; the older backup will have to be imported one post at a time. That will take a few days; but I got 3 years to do it 🙂

I’m also still ironing out a few minor graphic annoyances; but since I’m used to annoyances that shouldn’t take too long.

Enjoy!

BARTG RTTY Spring contest

On March 16 and 17 the CARC participated in the annual BARTG RTTY Spring contest. This was mainly a training session for Cici AE5EK.

We didn’t make a whole lot of contacts; because the learning curve can be pretty steep. But it was fun; and she learned quickly! And I’m working on modifying the club station’s hardware to make thing much easier for everyone.

The results look like this:

CARC BARTG Spring 2013

We’re going to do much better next time!!!
